What to Expect
Aiki-Taiso
Aiki-Taiso is an Aikido-related exercise class for the purpose of developing ki energy, core strength, flexibility, mental and physical harmony, and balance, all key for maintaining independence as we age. Unlike in Aikido, there are no throws, pins, or wrist locks. Instead, the class focuses on the meditative and movement aspects of Aikido. The class is geared specifically toward the needs of older adults (55 and up) and is taught by Browning Sensei, who is a retired nurse.

History
Aiki Taiso developed from Daito-ryu, a martial art developed by Takeda Sokaku. His student Morihei Ueshiba later founded Aikido.

Uniform
Practitioners should wear comfortable, loose clothing. They should be barefoot.
