Our Philosophy

The safety of our students and instructors is our highest priority at Island Aikido.  PLEASE stay home if you are experiencing any contagious illness symptoms. If you are feeling sick or recovering and still are symptomatic, PLEASE STAY HOME.

Anzen dai ichi: Safety First

Aikido philosophy and technique are interwoven to create a healthy form of character refinement and self-protection. Aikido technique is specially designed to be non-destructive, leading the  student toward a non-fighting mind.

Aikido is for all ages, genders, and physical abilities.

It is not suitable for those looking to engage in combat. It is not competitive but instead focuses on personal growth, fitness, core strength, and skill development in a supportive, community-based atmosphere.
